PERSPECTIVE - For Perplexed Painters - A two day workshop on Linear and Aerial perspective
Sat/Sun 24/25 May Schoolhouse for Art, Enniskerry 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. €250
In this workshop, you will learn and practice the key aspects of both linear and aerial perspective - the essential skills that help create better accuracy and realism in your drawings and paintings.
LINEAR PERSPECTIVE - relates to the line drawing of objects - e.g. to make houses or windows or doors look 'correct' from whatever vantage point you're seeing them 0 you may be looking 'straight at' them, or 'over' them, or 'looking down' at them from a higher vantage point - each will be seen differently and need to be drawn differently to read correctly. In this important 2 day workshop you will practice how to do each view and understand why! Enniskerry houses and rooflines are a great example of this complexity and you will get to try your newfound skills outside - weather permitting.
AERIAL PERSPECTIVE - is about how Distance and Atmosphere affect your paintings - being able to paint 'Distance' is essential for the landscape painter, because the colours, tones and several other aspects of every object are affected by how far away they are, and you must change how you paint near and distant objects differently.
I will break down the skills in clear, simple steps and you will feel much more confident of capturing what you see in the landscape - for ALL your future paintings and drawings.
I don't run this workshop too often, so this is a great opportunity to learn and practice these skills - just two days to upskill your artwork - places are limited so book early to be sure.
