Coronavirus Safety Protocols Due to the coronavirus, I've decided to switch this workshop to a bigger venue to allow more space between students - it's now being held in the Cong Community Centre just opposite Ashford Castle entrance on the Cong - Cross road. I've just completed a three day workshop in this venue and it's perfect to give maximum protection and social distancing, and there's temperature checks, sanitisers, masks and gloves available too. Also, it's not practical to have live models on this workshop - instead, we will be working from high quality photographs, but to be honest, I think it's probably a little easier for you if you're not experienced at portraits. We will also be limiting the class to just 10 students, so you'll get lots of one-to-one advice from me as you paint your portraits. To keep everyone as safe as possible, I have to introduce safety protocols for the workshop - these are for everyone's safety - so there'll be a verbal health check with temperature check (gun) reading before entry each day, and masks and plastic gloves and sanitisers are available and encouraged. I will wear a full face shield while teaching and for one-to-one advice throughout the workshop. Because of the venue switch, we are unable to provide lunches, so you are encouraged to bring your own lunch each day and, while there are kitchen facilities and paper cups available, you may wish to bring your own cup, spoon etc for breaks and lunches. Cong village is just a minute away by car, and you can also buy lunch items in the grocery shop there, or go for lunch in one of several dining places in the village. All earlier participants had sandwiches with tea/coffee for their short lunch break. It's all a bit of a nuisance, but your safety, and that of all members of this group, is our main concern, I'm sure you'll understand and appreciate these new measures.
